This near-perfect daylily is named for a good friend, author, and consummate plant person, Diana Grenfell, from Hampshire, England. The flower has a black sheen to its deep wine color with black veins and a lighter triangular watermark. Throat is yellow to green. An EMO, the form is full and ruffled, with a beveled black center petal stripe. Blooms are flat, with some recurve, and finely serrated edges flecked black and gold.
