We named this one for a beloved chestnut stallion horse named IDE, its color closely matching a bunch of carrots, of which he likely would choose to sample a handful. A few years ago, while visiting Daylily World, Daylily connoisseur and photographer Debbie Monbeck spotted this medium orange self with lighter, beveled midrib and small green throat. Ide is a well-behaved double daylily - consistently formed with generous pleats on the petals, outlined in deeper shades of rose-orange. Rebloom is consistent, and pods are easy to set.
