Named for William Marchant, assessment coordinator for the Douglas County School System in Douglasville, Georgia. His namesake is this exceptional new cultivar. ' William Marchant' is a break-through in lavender colored doubles. It is pristine, diamond dusted, and with potent pollen. Additionally, its fancy petal and petaloid segments, sparkle in yellow gold. Punctuating the bloom is a full yellow to green throat. Will somehow manages to be a powerhouse of a plantsman, and who excels in hybridizing, public speaking and helping others. It is an honor that William Marchant chooses this beauty to represent his name.
